HOW TO APPLY

Applying to be a Massachusetts Promise Fellow is a simple four-step process. Get started with your application today by following the steps below:

STEP 1: Early in April, 2014, you can begin the application process by reading through the Fellowship position descriptions. In the interim, you can view the positions Fellows are currently serving in and to learn more about what types of opportunities will be available. Click here to learn more about Fellow projects.

STEP 2: Review the details of positions that are of interest to you for a complete description of the project and follow the directions included in the service description on how to apply with that particular site.

STEP 3: Complete MPF's online General Application

STEP 4: Submit the following directly to the contact person listed at the bottom of the position description:

  • Cover letter
  • Resume
  • Contact information for three references

The host site will contact you—if you meet the qualifications for their position—to schedule an interview. 

If you are selected as a finalist by a host site, the Massachusetts Promise Fellowship staff will contact you to set up an interview. Following this interview, Fellowship staff will offer the position to the top candidate.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proven leadership and project management abilities
  • A passion for and commitment to national and community service
  • The desire to work with diverse constituencies
  • Flexibility and a good sense of humor
  • High school degree or GED equivalent
  • 17 years of age or older
  • Must be willing to comply with a criminal background check
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Alien documentation
